Italian Sausage, Parmesan black olives and cheese makes this a one of a kind flavor for virtually any meal occasion.
Authentic recipe makes 14 servings
- 1 (19.76 oz) package Light Italian Sausage
- 1/2 cup butter
- 12 cups dry unseasoned
- 1 (2.25 oz) can sliced black olives, drained
- 1 tbsp minced fresh basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 eggs, whipped
Directions: Crumble and cook sausage over medium heat and lightly browned; drain and set aside. In the exact same frying pan, melt butter and saute celery, onion, green pepper and garlic until soft.
In a sizable bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, sausage, vegetables, bread stuffing, olives and seasonings. Combine eggs and broth; add to bread mixture, stirring to mix.
Transfer into a buttered 3-quart baking dish. Uncover and bake 10 minutes more or until lightly browned. Serve.
